Illinois Series LLC (Limited Liability Company)
What is a ‘series LLC’?
A series LLC is a recent and involved form of incorporation. The idea is that a single business entity is formed in Illinois and that separate ‘series’ can be created within that main LLC.
Initially series LLC’s were created in Delaware some years ago. The concept has not caught on very well because most singular LLC’s can do what the series LLC can do. One exception is that if you are planning to have a number of LLC’s in Illinois the series LLC can save you a lot of money for registration.
